Jean-Paul Séculaire was born in London in 1978 and grew up listening to old school black music from a very young age. Now a respected DJ and collector, his speciality is across-the-board vintage sounds: everything from 30s rhythm & blues and swing through to 70s funk, reggae and salsa, as well as some more contemporary releases. This passion and open-mindedness has led to him being called a "musical visionary" by veteran Jamaican sound man Gladdy Wax.

Jean-Paul began DJing in 2001 and started his first club night early in 2002. He runs Right On! and is the club's resident DJ and host. On top of this, he regularly DJs at some of London's other premier club nights and has been a frequent guest at the highly-acclaimed Lady Luck club; from its early days at Secrets in Euston and The Millenium Club in Covent Garden, through to its stints at the Soho Revue Bar (formerly Too2Much), The On The Rocks Rehearsal Studios and Platinum.

Jean-Paul has also DJ'd in support of the legendary Prince Buster @ The Bournemouth Opera House, John Holt @ The Jazz Cafe and Toots & The Maytals @ Koko. Other notable bookings have included Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, The Scala and The Café Royal's Grill Room.

Jean-Paul is a talented dancer and was featured dancing the ska in the BBC's adaptation of "The Long Firm" in 2004. Coming from a dance background, Jean-Paul knows exactly how to get people's feet moving and is known for his ability to keep a dancefloor rocking.

When not DJing, Jean-Paul is usually to be found out dancing in one of London's many night spots. His knowledge of London's nightlife is highly regarded and his online London Dossier - www.londondossier.blogspot.com - is a definitive guide to London's coolest clubs, bars, cafes, shops and much more.
