Right On!

Dean Rudland

As well as having been one of the main men at Acid Jazz, Dean has worked for some of the world's greatest record labels including the renowned Blue Note Records and legendary Latin label, Fania. He currently works for leading reissue label, Ace Records, running their BGP imprint.

On top of being an extremely popular club DJ in the UK, Dean regularly travels to the USA discovering long-lost and unissued master tapes hidden deep in dusty vaults and meeting many of the big-name artists of the 60s and 70s.

Known as the “compilation king”, Dean has compiled countless albums of classic, rare and unreleased vintage music, including the “Super Funk” series, the “Mod Jazz” series (with Ady Croasdell) and the hugely influential “Blue Break Beats” and “Blue Juice” volumes.

Dean Rudland's critically-acclaimed Fania Records compilation “El Barrio: The Bad Boogaloo” was officially launched at Right On! on Saturday 23rd September 2006.
